The Concord Museum is an excellent starting point for those looking to explore the town's rich history. Dominated by a six-gallery exhibit called "Why Concord?" the museum takes visitors on a journey from the area's beginnings as a Native American settlement, to its crucial role in the Revolutionary War, to its contemporary status as an intellectual gathering place for the likes of Emerson, Walden, and more. It lies in the downtown area, near Emerson Playground.
