The Concord Museum is an excellent starting point for those looking to explore the town's rich history. Dominated by a six-gallery exhibit called "Why Concord?" the museum takes visitors on a journey from the area's beginnings as a Native American settlement, to its crucial role in the Revolutionary War, to its contemporary status as an intellectual gathering place for the likes of Emerson, Walden, and more.
