Minute Man National Historical Park pays tribute to the site of the American Revolution's first battle, on April 19, 1775. Preserved battlefields dot the scenic park, accentuated by the writings of authors from the period, a helpful visitor center, live reenactments such as a musket demonstration, and the famous Wayside House, where authors Nathaniel Hawthorne, Bronson and Louisa May Alcott, and Margaret Sidney all made their home. The park lies just north of downtown Concord, next to Borden Pond.
