Otherwise known as the "Home of Authors," Concord's Wayside provided the residence of Nathaniel Hawthorne, and before him "Little Women" scribe Louisa May Alcott. Later on, it would be lived in and restored by children's author Margaret Sidney. Today, it contains a permanent exhibits about the authors' lives, as well as life-like sculptures of each one. A fixture of Minuteman National Historic Park, it lies along the Battle Road, about 20 miles from downtown Boston.
